Each of you has a life story and within that story are opportunities for growth, happiness, and fulfillment. Many of you are feeling emotional pain, frustrations, anger, fear, and hopelessness. You are not “broken” just likely realizing that the problem-solving tools that may have worked in the past may be dull or worn. Many times we are not sure what to do, or where to look for help. Likely, many have tried friends, family, partners, etc., and many times they have great advice relative to their worldview. Although this type of support is invaluable, there are times when a professional counselor is needed.

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and have the training and life experiences that enable me to help tailor a personal counseling experience for you. I provide treatment for individuals, couples, families, and groups. I have a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling combined with years of experience. I enjoy the outdoors and participate in bicycle riding, dirt bike riding, and hiking in the beautiful desert we live in. Happiness is an action and to realize it one must participate in life, overcome obstacles, and take time to enjoy the small successes of each day. Jacob Dastrup, Intern Marriage & Family Therapist

Hablo Español. Me encantaría ayudar en lo que yo pueda!

One saying that has been impactful for me is “life’s greatest battles are fought out daily in the silent chambers of the soul.”

I find a sacred love for the chance to hold space for people to explore those silent chambers inside of themselves and realize that suffering can be metabolized and transformed into sweetness, meaning, and joy.

I believe strongly in the pillars of self-compassion which include kindness, mindfulness, and common humanity. I know that each individual can come to understand that we are not alone and there are people and resources to help us navigate the mountains of life.

As a former collegiate and elite gymnast, I am particularly aware of the unique pressures of being an athlete and how to find ways to relieve those pressures in order to ensure that enjoyment of sports outweighs the demands that can lead to burnout.

While working at the Utah State Psychiatric Hospital, I realized I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing what I could to help those wrestling with the confusing and complex struggles associated with relationships and emotional health. Through my own journey, I have been able to find that there is always hope.

I find peace by spending time in nature and enjoying its varieties. I enjoy listening to and creating music on the guitar, piano, drums. I also like to sing–when I’m alone. I am an animal lover, and I love savoring delicious new foods and desserts. I love silly inside jokes with my wife and playing board games with friends. Smash Bros on the Nintendo Switch is my all-time favorite video game.
