Associate Marriage & Family Therapist

Couples rarely come to therapy over a single argument. They come because the same argument keeps happening, and neither person knows how to stop it.

I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) providing online therapy to individuals and couples in Utah and Nevada. I work primarily with trauma, betrayal, compulsive or addictive behavior, emotional disconnection, and high-conflict relationship patterns.

The people I see often feel stuck. Couples cycle between conflict and withdrawal, try to rebuild trust after infidelity or pornography use, or quietly wonder whether the relationship can be repaired at all. Individuals often understand their patterns clearly and still can’t change how they respond to anxiety, shame, or unwanted behavior. Insight alone rarely does it.

Individually, much of my work is with trauma, compulsive and addictive behavior, and the beliefs people carry about themselves without ever having agreed to them. I’m too much. I’m not enough. Something is wrong with me. Those beliefs tend to run quietly underneath the anxiety, the shame, the relapse, the overworking. We work at that level, not just at the level of behavior, because the behavior usually isn’t the problem. It’s the solution to something older.

My work goes beneath the symptoms. Together we look at the emotional and relational patterns driving the struggle, process the unresolved experiences keeping those patterns in place, and build steadier ways of responding to yourself and to the people you love. That often means slowing down enough to notice what’s happening in the moment it happens, which is usually where change actually starts.

Because I work entirely by telehealth, sessions happen wherever you are. For couples, that’s often the difference between coordinating two schedules across town and simply closing a door at home.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Family Science from Utah Valley University and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University.

I believe healing happens in safe, honest relationships. My hope is that you leave therapy less isolated, more connected to what matters most to you, and better equipped for the relationships you’re actually in. Being a husband and father shapes how I approach every part of this work.
