Steve is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 22 years of experience as a therapist. He earned his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University and has spent much of his career helping individuals and couples navigate life’s most difficult challenges. For more than 15 years, he has also served as an adjunct professor at both Utah State University and Dixie State University, sharing his clinical expertise with thousands of students.
Specializing in trauma treatment, Steve brings a deep understanding of how past experiences shape present functioning. He works extensively with couples and individuals using advanced therapeutic approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. He places particular emphasis on helping clients explore their own and their partner’s internal experiences—fostering empathy, understanding, and healing within relationships.
With a strong foundation in family systems work, Steve’s passion lies in identifying the patterns that influence behavior and emotional health within families. His calm, grounding presence brings stability and reassurance to families facing stressful or complex situations. He is especially skilled in working with adoptive families, offering insights that promote long-lasting relational change and emotional connection.
Outside of the therapy room, Steve and his wife of 28 years enjoy spending time with their three children, their new son-in-law and daughter-in-law, and exploring both far-off destinations and local scenic getaways. They love boating—especially at Lake Powell—and are avid Disneyland fans. In his quiet moments, Steve enjoys reading, photography, exercising, and tending to the family garden.
