She is also trained in auricular acupuncture, a complementary technique using specific points on the ear to promote relaxation and emotional balance, enhancing traditional therapeutic work. As a certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist, Katie supports trauma resolution by guiding clients through the reprocessing of distressing memories to reduce emotional distress and foster lasting healing. Her therapeutic skill set includes evidence-based strategies for managing depression and supporting clients who may be struggling with sadness, hopelessness, or low motivation.

Katie believes in the power of a collaborative, strengths-based therapeutic relationship, where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to make meaningful changes. She draws on a variety of therapeutic modalities tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, family systems theory, and somatic techniques. This flexible and personalized approach allows her to support clients as they uncover their strengths, develop effective coping strategies, and find renewed purpose.

Katie earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii. She has since gained extensive clinical experience in diverse settings, continually expanding her knowledge through ongoing professional development and research.
