Katelyn Anderson, Marriage & Family Therapist
About

Katelyn Anderson

Intern Marriage & Family Therapist

Katelyn is passionate about supporting children, teens, and young adults as they navigate mental health challenges and build emotional resilience. With experience working with individuals facing depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and suicidal thoughts, she understands how overwhelming it can be to take that first step into therapy. Katelyn’s priority is to create a warm, welcoming space where clients feel safe, supported, and empowered to make meaningful progress toward their goals.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Communication from Dixie State University and spent nearly five years working with children and teens on the autism spectrum. Through this work, Katelyn discovered a deep calling to mental health care and is now pursuing her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy through National University. She is currently completing her internship with Ascend Kids and Teens, where she integrates therapeutic insight with real-life experience to help young clients thrive.

Katelyn uses play therapy techniques to help children and adolescents express themselves in ways that feel natural and safe. She enjoys helping clients develop healthy coping skills, learn to manage big emotions, and improve their relationships with peers and family. Her approach is gentle, goal-focused, and grounded in the belief that every person has the capacity for growth, connection, and healing.

Outside of her professional life, Katelyn loves spending time with her husband and their three daughters. Married for eleven years, they enjoy bike rides, hiking, playing board games and pickleball, and simply being together. Katelyn also enjoys watercolor painting and sewing as ways to recharge and connect creatively. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside families and individuals on their journey to wellness.
