Julie is a St. George native who has lived across the country, including time in the San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, and North Carolina’s Research Triangle. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development from Brigham Young University and later completed her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Utah Tech University. Her broad life experiences have deepened her appreciation for cultural and relational diversity, which she brings into her clinical work.
Julie has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of settings, including residential treatment and community-based care. She specializes in supporting clients through complex trauma, depression, anxiety, adoption-related concerns, domestic violence, betrayal trauma, and sexual abuse. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in compassion and curiosity, tailored to meet each client’s unique needs and life story.
Her areas of clinical focus include attachment-based therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and the treatment of developmental trauma and attachment wounds. She frequently incorporates expressive arts, sand tray, and a wide range of play therapy modalities to support emotional processing and healing in children and families. Julie is passionate about lifelong learning and is constantly expanding her skill set to ensure her clients receive care that feels attuned, safe, and effective.
Julie is a Registered Play Therapist™ and holds advanced training and certifications in trauma and attachment, including EMDR and the Trauma Research Foundation’s Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies. Outside of her professional work, she is the proud mother of six children and loves spending time in nature, exploring new recipes, enjoying music, and being with her grandchildren.
