Martin Koford
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
I believe that counseling is a collaborative journey—one that begins in a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive environment. Each of us has a life story, and within that story lie opportunities for growth, healing, happiness, and fulfillment. Many individuals come to counseling carrying emotional pain, frustration, anger, fear, or hopelessness. You are not “broken.” You may simply be realizing that the tools that once helped you cope are no longer as effective. Sometimes, it’s difficult to know what to do or where to turn for help. While family, friends, and loved ones offer valuable support, there are moments when the guidance of a professional counselor becomes essential.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with licensure in both Utah and Nevada. I hold a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling and bring years of personal and professional experience to my work. I provide therapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups, and I specialize in treating issues related to anxiety, depression, addiction, stress management, and marriage and family relationships.
My professional training includes:
Completed Level 3 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy
Prime for Life Instructor and Prime Solutions certification for substance use treatment
Domestic violence offender and survivor treatment
In addition to my counseling work, my undergraduate background in Business Administration and years of experience with business system solutions provide me with a unique perspective when working with professionals navigating workplace stress or career-related challenges. Managing a business can be frustrating and overwhelming, and I offer support that is both objective and solution-focused.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy the outdoors—biking, dirt biking, and hiking in the beautiful desert landscapes of Southern Utah and Nevada. I believe happiness is an action: to experience it, we must participate in life, face and overcome our challenges, and find meaning in the small victories each day. Struggles are a part of life, but how we respond to them shapes who we become. By strengthening our weaknesses and building on our existing strengths, we can find peace, joy, and a greater sense of fulfillment.
